On 18 March 2022, people from all over London united in a powerful show of support for Ukraine. Thousands gathered across the city, to boldly stand against Putin's actions and demonstrate unwavering solidarity with Ukrainians.
Locals and visitors alike filled the streets, transforming the city into a vibrant sea of blue and yellow. Crowds proudly waved Ukrainian flags and held up banners, clearly expressing their stance on Putin.
The protest began at Park Lane, passed by Yoko Ono's Imagine Peace message on a Piccadilly billboard, and culminated in a moving vigil at Trafalgar Square.
Men, women, children, and even dogs voiced their outrage, embodying the spirit of Londoners. The event featured prominent political figures, including the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and the then Shadow Foreign Secretary, David Lammy. The loudest cheers were reserved for Ukraine's President, Volodymyr Zelensky, who appeared on a large screen.

Explore this captivating gallery of photos I created that day. Each image intends to capture a moment in history and showcase the vibrant essence of who Londoners are and what we collectively stood for during the early 2020s. This period was marked by profound social change and a heightened sense of community activism. My photographs aim to reflect the spirit of resilience and determination that characterised our city during these turbulent times.
I used a Tamron 17-50mm lens to ensure optimal flexibility in capturing perfect subjects, even in crowded spaces. Additionally, I utilised a Nikon 10.2mm fisheye lens to effectively emphasise protesters and their signs.
